Dear Lobo Family,

On behalf of the Lobo Elementary School Team, I would like to welcome you and your child to the 2009-2010 school year!  I feel honored and privileged to serve as your principal.  The Lobo staff is committed to providing the best possible education for your child and this year promises to be filled with many exciting learning opportunities for students, parents and staff.   I look forward to working closely together to ensure an environment where excellence is expected, diversity is valued and students come first!

Listed below are several important reminders for you before the first day of school:

Thursday, September 3Class Lists will be posted on the kindergarten playground fence after 4:00 PM.  Please remember the class lists are tentative, as we have no guarantee of student enrollment during the first two weeks of school.  Please be assured, the staff and I have carefully considered each child’s class placement.  Students are grouped at all grade levels with consideration given to interests, learning styles, and academic needs.  Classes are balanced to be equitable in size and boy:girl ratio.  All Lobo teachers are highly qualified and enthusiastic educators with the desire to provide every child with a meaningful supportive learning experience.  Any class changes would cause a disruption to the balance at each grade level.  Please note there will be no class changes before the first two weeks of school.  Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.

Friday, September 4– Please join us for our annual “Meet and Greet.”  This Lobo tradition will be slightly different from past years.  Beginning at 11:00 a.m. teachers will welcome/meet their students and parents in their classroom.  At 12:00 p.m. teachers, staff, students and parents will meet on the blacktop for our “Lobo Social.”  This will be a wonderful time to get to know each other better and discover the many ways in which you can become involved in your child’s education.  PTA and Boosters will be present with membership, fundraising and volunteer information.  Your child will be participating in many excellent programs this year through the help and support of PTA and Boosters.   I encourage you to get involved and seek out opportunities to help our school.  “Together We Succeed!

Tuesday, September 8First day of school.  Students in grades 1-5 will meet on the big playground.  Please remember this is an “early out day” (7:45-12:50).

                                    Late Bird Kindergarten: 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
