Welcome Back to School
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year! I am honored to have been selected as your new principal. I feel fortunate to have met many of you at Open House and Aloha Lobo. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you personally this year. I hope you have all enjoyed your summer and are ready to begin a wonderful school year.
As the new principal of Lobo Elementary, I am looking forward to maintaining the positive school culture and high expectations of student success. I am very excited about working in a school that operates as a Professional Learning Community which embraces continuous improvement on the behalf of all students.
Prior to moving to Carlsbad in 1999, my family and I lived in San Clemente for seven years. Involvement in the community is very important to me. I believe that building a bridge between the school and the community provides a strong sense of cooperation, pride and mutual respect. As a result of my active community involvement, I was selected by the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce as Educator of the Year in 2004.
As an educator for 24 years, I believe I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Lobo. I have been an elementary school teacher, school counselor, special education specialist, and administrator. More importantly, I have deep roots at Lobo. In 1995, I served as the behavior intervention counselor under the leadership of Suzette Lovely and again in 2001 as the assistant principal under the leadership of Debbie McCormick.
I am thrilled to be the principal of Lobo school. The students, staff, parents and community are incredible. I look forward to working together to make a difference in the lives of children.
